With a background in architecture (MS) and many years as a graphic designer,
the artist has made notable contributions to design, including creating an
Ethiopian typeface sold to Google.
Author of a book for learning Amharic and designer of a popular Ethiopian kids’
app for learning the Ethiopian alphabet, the artist has taught painting and
language to children and instructed yearly programs at the African Art Museum.
Since COVID, the artist has focused exclusively on watercolor painting,
supplying prints to established DC stores, including the Building Museum Gift Shop.
